AI Overview

Hylo is a Solana DeFi protocol combining liquidation‑free leverage (xSOL) with a high‑yield native stablecoin (HYUSD/sHYUSD), rapidly growing TVL and an XP/crowns campaign that users can farm while the existence and utility of a $HYLO token remain unconfirmed.

  • Rapid growth: Hylo reached roughly $100M TVL in four months, driven by on‑chain incentives and heavy airdrop speculation on Solana.
  • Novel primitives: Liquidation‑free 2.2x exposure via xSOL and overcollateralized HYUSD/sHYUSD aim to deliver outsized stablecoin yield (sHYUSD ≈13.7% APY).
  • Airdrop & access: Earn XP, crowns and boosts by minting, staking, using farms and referrals; rewards likely but a $HYLO token is not yet confirmed, so assess protocol and market risk.

Liquidation-free leverage, combined with the highest APY yield of any stablecoin on Solana.

It sounds too good to be true, and maybe it is, but we won’t know until Hylo launches, and in the meantime friends, there’s an airdrop to farm.

There was a time that Liquid Staked tokens and even Liquid Re-staked tokens were all the rage (here’s looking at you, 2024), but the fact is, they never really went away. In fact, data from Wise Guy Reports suggests that both markets will enjoy significant growth (valued in billions of dollars) in the coming years.

Much staking and liquid staking takes place on the Ethereum blockchain, but new Solana-based market entrant Hylo might change all that.

What is Hylo?

Hylo is a Decentralized Finance (DeFi) protocol building an ecosystem around liquid stakes coins, specifically the native Solana coin and USD-pegged stablecoins.

It describes itself as an amplified DeFi experience, and has some novel capabilities that are worth investigating even without the possibility of an airdrop.

The project has grown at an average rate of $25 million total value locked (TVL) per month since its launch four months ago, and this is no doubt in large part thanks to speculation around an airdrop.

Is an airdrop confirmed?

Though a specific $HYLO token and airdrop have not been officially confirmed, the project is running an ongoing airdrop and points campaign, in which airdrop hunters can level up, unlock badges (called crowns) and accrue XP.

It is almost certain that XP and Hylo points will convert into real rewards at the end of the campaign, but do your own research and decide whether you want to spend time farming it.

The official documentation confirms that there will be various seasons of rewards, and different boosts, starting with Season 0. This first season is designed to onboard new users and encourage them to engage with the Hylo ecosystem.

How to become eligible

Becoming eligible for this drop – or at the very least qualifying for the XP program – is quick and easy. Simply connect your wallet to the site and use some Solana to mint the different Hylo tokens.

Simply holding xSOL and HYUSD will start accruing XP that and see you climbing the dashboard, but there are many ways to boost these earnings.

Note: you may need to find a referral code on crypto Twitter (X) to access for the first time. Once in, you’ll have your own referral code that you can use to earn 10% of your referrer’s XP.

The fastest and easiest way to earn XP is simply by using Hylo itself to mint and engage with their tokens. You can choose a strategy that favours XP earnings or yielded rewards.

Using farms offers significant boosters, and the best ones are listed within the Hylo app. For example, you can deposit Hylo tokens into Exponent to receive both XP and yield multipliers.

Hylo tokens and their use cases

Hylo is currently a three-token system, with the potential to become a four or more token ecosystem in the future. These tokens are managed by a collateral pool that is comprised of other Liquid Staked Tokens (LSTs).

  • xSOL – a leverage token that is designed to give holders exposure to potential Solana upside without funding rates, fees, and other traditional trading mechanisms. It has 0 liquidation risk and currently offers 2.2x leverage at no cost.
  • HyloSOL & HyloSOL+ – high-APY liquid staked tokens that represent Solana deposited to the Hylo validator, the plus version exchanges yield for boosted XP multipliers.
  • HYUSD & sHYUSD – HYUSD and its staked equivalent are overcollateralized, decentralized stablecoins backed by Liquid Staked tokens such as JitoSOL. sHYUSD is intended to give the largest yield of any stablecoin on the Solana blockchain. Current APY = 13.7%
  • A possible $HYLO token – one can only speculate what utility a $HYLO token would offer, but it would likely be the usual: staking, governance and incentivization.

Team & funding

The Hylo team comes from a technical and development background, with experience in Rust and Anchor.

The pseudonymous team of Plish (CEO), Sape (head of growth) and Shoom (not specified) successfully raised $1.5 million of seed funding. This backing and support suggests high confidence in Hylo, and is bullish for the project.

Verdict

Hylo is an exciting new project on one of crypto’s biggest blockchains. If they continue to execute and keep their community actively engaged, they can expect to have a great end to 2025 and start of next year.
